My approach to therapy:
What is therapy going to be like? What will be expected of me? Will I be lectured or judged? This page is designed to put you at ease about my specific approach to therapy. If you have any further questions about therapy or my approach, please contact me.

Psychotherapy is a very special process between two people. My approach is to use the relationship that we develop to move you toward the change you desire at a pace that is comfortable to you. I see my role as a therapist is to be the listener and not to do most of the talking. I am genuinely interested in learning about you so I can work with you toward the change you desire. I want you to feel understood, listened to, and connected. Together we will explore your past and how it might contribute to your current issues. I will listen carefully to you for what it is that you are interested in changing and for what might be contributing to your difficulties. I seek to understand what is going on in your life from a big-picture perspective and offer you a fresh view on your situation that encourages healthy growth toward the positive changes you want.
